Ginger was adopted out three weeks ago, and is resting nicely in her new home. Mrs T, from Murfreesboro, NC saw Ginger on the Petfinder.com website and inquired, saw, and arrangements were made accordingly. She wound up listed there through Fugee's Pitbull Rescue, which mirrored the listing to Petfinder. A coordinated effort with positive results.
The ONLY fault I have about Fugee's is that two weeks prior to my wife, Alice, contacting them, I had contacted them, and they never responded to my initial contact nor followup phone call. Period. They even had a call-out for a graphics designer to help them come up with a new logo, and I offered my services and even took the initiative to design a custom logo. Not that I am feeling put off by the group, they did after all, get things done. But when someone calls and asks to have a dog listed, and especially when its a self-foster and they dont have to do anything but perform a couple of key-strokes, and this someone goes to the trouble to design an appropriate graphic logo, then its a bit irresponsible to not even acknowledge the email or the subsequent phone call.
Anyhow... Mrs T has had pitbulls previously, and knows the breed, and she currently has an altered male, Buster. So Ginger has a new playmate, a new family, and a new life.
Its not the dog. Its the irresponsible dog owners that give the breed a bad name.
We miss you Ginger. But its all good.

Ginger, Pit Bull Rescue
Ginger, an American Pitbull Terrier [APBT] was found abandoned in Cumberland County, NC chained to a tree, with no collar, starving, dehydrated, and no shelter. She was bordering on an embedded collar [where the chain perforates the skin] and was near skin and bones when she was rescued.
A very happy, loving dog, its a wonder someone, anyone, could do such a thing of this caliber to her.
She is at full recovery now and ready for adoption. She is, as of this writing, un-spayed, but she does has an appointment next month with the local SPCA to have the procedure completed and to have her shots brought up to date.
She is about a year old, mostly white with orange-yellow 'tabby' spots, a few brindle stripes scross her back, and a cute reddish-pink nose.

She has NO ISSUES. She gets along flawlessly with every single person she has came into contact with, and the same applies to every dog she has met. She has no food aggression issues despite her starving condition when rescued, sharing quite diplomatically with our other three dogs, waiting patiently for her name to be called.
She weighed a paltry 22 lbs when we got her, and is currently a comfortable and healthy 40 lbs . She is of a small'ish nature and will not fill out too much further.

She responds very well to commands, and knows the basics such as sit, down, off, and come. Completely house-broke. She has been thus far an inside dog. Her short single-coat is not heavy enough for cold weather. She interacts extremely well with our other three dogs, Australian Shepherds, and there has not been a single incident of fighting even in the first week. She just melded in so effortlessly, it was amazing. I will add that she does snore, oh my gosh, and loves her dog bed...
So there you have her. She's ready for you. Are you ready for her? =)
